I’m so glad this week to be focusing on Raw Foods and Recipes that are sure to help rejuvenate your body and soul. I’m sure you’ve heard of the many benefits involved in raw food, but did you know about hidden benefits of raw diets? Click Here To Find Out More >> This week’s adult class on Thursday is titled “Cooking Techniques, Terms and Gadgets” and our chefs will be learning a TON of stuff about cooking while preparing a hearty Wild Mushroom and Walnut Pate which we’ll spread over Crostini Bread, next we’ll enjoy a Warm Kale and Antipasto Salad, our entree will be a creamy Brown Butter Risotto with succulent Lobster, and for dessert, we’ll make a Mango Sorbet. On Saturday, kids will battle in a Cupcake War and. we’ll also prepare a Tomato Bisque with Homemade Cheese Tortellini (the kids LOVE making fresh pasta!) To help you continue the new year with a life renewed set, today, I want to share raw recipes that include a super healthy Smoothie, a power food twist on a classic salad and a raw dessert that’s truly out of this world! Born in Venezuela, Chef Maria developed her passion for food as a young girl. In her early 20’s she came to the United States and entered the restaurant business in Boston MA. Later in San Diego CA she opened El Tucan Restaurant. It was in San Diego that Chef Maria was challenged by the culture and regional ingredients that ultimately contributed to the inventive style she’s known for today. Also during this time in San Diego, Chef Maria was introduced to organic produce importance of nutrition.
