Not only these macaroons are addictive but they are GOOD for you. Adding quinoa will add lots of nutrients, that normally you wont find in the traditional recipe. You will be amazed how delicious these are. This is a great way to swap the butter on your toast for avocado, which is a healthy fat and take will take your toast to another level. This mouthwatering recipe can be eaten for breakfast, lunch of afternoon snack. Adding kale will make it even more nutritious and will add texture to the spread. Using the Greek cream cheese and yogurt in this recipe will create a much silkier, soft and healthier result. Add this delicious frosting to any cupcakes and you'll have some happy friends and family. If you enjoy the traditional Hummus, adding peanut butter instead of the traditional Tahini paste, gives it a Southern twist. You can substitute de from sunflower seeds if you are allergic to nuts. If you don't have time to cook your own garbanzo beans from scratch just choose only the best quality boxed product. Choose organic and low sodium. Make sure you rinse and drain the beans as much possible before using. Give yourself a meatless day. If you are in the mood to prepare a very tasty but hearty dish this can be it! A vegetarian Meatloaf. This recipe is packed with healthy fillers, like Quinoa, zucchini, carrots and flax meal. This meatloaf can be made using a cupcake pan or a regular baking pan. If using a cupcake pan, you can add mashed potato topping and make it look like frosting. Your kids will be more incline to eat them then. This recipe is the healthy version of the traditional deep-fried egg roll that you get at a Chinese buffet or Chinese take-out. In this recipe, we added sweet potatoes instead of pork and we bake it instead of deep-frying it. Therefore, it is not only super tasty but packed with nutrients. These cooking are loaded with super foods like; Matcha Green Tea that is packed with antioxidants which boosts metabolism and burns calories and is also rich in fiber and vitamin C. It prevents disease, lowers cholesterol and blood sugar.  It has Coconut Oil that can help you burn more fat, kills harmful microorganisms and improves blood cholesterol levels. You'll also notice that there's very little sugar used in this recipe and we use oat and garbanzo flour.  Therefore, they're gluten free! Perfect to accompany them with a nice glass of Almond milk! Chinese Cauliflower fried no-rice must be one of my favorite dishes ever! Not only you are not eating empty calories with too much carbs with a traditional white rice but the cauliflower rice has a much better flavor. Ratatouille has been always a favorite dish of mine. Not only can be served with pasta, French fries or rice but serve over toasted flat bread and now you have a healthy Pizza. Make this fun and super delicious and super nutritious snacks for school or perfect during the holidays! Good for ALL AGES! We all love a good breakfast casserole but feel too guilty afterwards! Here's a recipe that you may want to consider preparing on a Sunday or a rainy day. Using sprouted Ezekiel (Flax or Sprouted 7 Grain) spinach and avocado would add nutrients into this delicious dish and you'll be a bit less guilty. Living in South Florida we have a great influence of Latin flavors. So if you like Hummus, you have to try this variation of it. You can have this as an appetizer or add it as a topping to your veggie or turkey burger and now you have healthy and a gourmet dish! This is one of my favorite soups to eat all year round. You would never know that this soup contains NO heavy cream or any kind of dairy.

The red and green garnishes (Goji berries, chopped tomatoes and basil) makes it perfect for this holidays. Enjoy! These delicious and easy to bake cookies are some of our favorite! Using dry cranberries can give this recipe special touch especially during the holidays. These cookies are low in sugar and gluten free so they are easy to digest. . He's sure to melt when you serve him some of these yummy holiday treats. Use your imagination for the decorating, or involve the kids! A fresh take on the standard "Pigs in a blanket" snack, bring a little spooky cheer to your Halloween! By adding Butternut squash to this waffle recipe you will create a much healthier version of it and your kitchen will be filled with the delicious aroma of the autumn and winter time time.
Finish it up by adding pure maple syrup o fresh whipped cream! It will be a hit! Can you think of something more refreshing than a melon salad in a hot summer day? The sweetness, citrus and saltiness from this combination makes this dish very satisfying. I choose  Bulgarian Feta over Greek because of the law content of sodium. But again its a matter of choice. What a great way to have your kids eating salmon and quinoa, pronounced (“keen-wah”). If you haven't tried quinoa yet, here are a few reasons why you should incorporate it in most of our meals. Quinoa is naturally gluten-free and loaded vitamins ans minerals. It is one of only a few plant foods that are considered a complete protein and comprised of all pernine essential amino acids. Quinoa also has a high protein to carbohydrate ratio when compared to other grain products.
When preparing this dish you have 2 options, you can pan fry it or bake it. Both ways will be a hit for kids and adults! Enjoy! You'll be surprised how moist and delicious this vegan recipe is. We have made it on and on during our kids cooking camps and they love the outcome. Most often I've been asked how can avocado be used for frosting? If you think about, avocado has a very subtle taste, a creamy texture that combined with the cocoa powder, vanilla extract and the maple syrup you will have a delicious and healthy frosting. For best results, make sure you will refrigerate it before using. These gluten free pancakes are super delicious and nutritious. We recommend not to over mix them so the more lumps the better the turn out. You can serve them with your favorite fruit and pure maple syrup! YUM YUM! This recipe is a cross from a cinnamon roll and an apple pie. It's low in sugar and you could substitute the regular pie crust for a gluten free one, found in a health food store.
We prepared this recipe in our cooking school during a kids class, and everyone had so much fun rolling out the dough and placing the cinnamon mixture on the pie log then cutting them into circles. It was for sure a hit! This is a great way to have your kids eat their veggies, building a salad skewer pattern can be a lot of fun, not to mention it makes a great presentation for your guests. Other ingredients can be added like, cucumbers, red onions, bell peppers, etc. This recipe is always a hit in our kids cooking classes. Our students not only learn the importance of sanitation when working whit raw meats but they have a blast threading them into the skewers. They're packed with flavor and satisfies even the pickiest eaters. We have served them with our homemade Naan Bread and Israeli Salad or by themselves as an appetizer. I can say that this recipe is definitely a keeper! This is a Vegan appetizer that would impressed anyone. The freshness of the coconut meat, the crispiness of the hearts of palm and the sweetness of the mango makes a perfect combination of flavors and textures.
Growing up in Peru, I learned the secrets of how to make a traditional Fish Ceviche with its white milky juice called "Leche de Tigre" witch means in English "Tiger's Milk". Leche de Tigre is the leftover flavorful juice in which the raw fish gets marinated and most people drink it afterwards.
In this Vegan recipe you will have almost the same effect after combining the lime juice, garlic, aji panca, ginger, salt and coconut milk. Even thought there's no fish to marinate, you still want to soak the coconut meat for a few minutes so it absorbs all the flavors.
To create a beautiful presentation when serving this dish. You can use a martini glass or a square dish. Garnish it with mint or cilantro and the sliced avocado. From the ancient Ayurveda tradition (a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing that has its origins in the Vedic culture of India) comes this adaptation of one of the country's most popular Tea recipes. It is sweet and mild in flavor and it can be enjoyed cold and shared as a gift when packed in small cute Masson Jars! Buy your spices from a reputable vendor and make sure they are high quality in order to create a spice mix that is vibrant and has a long time aroma! Join us for our next Indian Adult Cooking Class at The Real Food Academy and learn how to make this and more suculent dishes! As the summer approaches, we are coming up with refreshing smoothie style beverages for our fans. This version of the classic Puerto Rican recipe is packed with vitamins A, B12, D, and Calcium. All of the ingredients are available year-round in SoFlo and have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and beneficial properties. As a plus for parents, kids love this recipe, it is great for get-together's, playtime by the pool and bbq's! In honor of our Ecuadorian brothers and sisters, I have decided to share this simple but delicious recipe that can be served as a side dish with any baked or grilled fish recipe. It's a classic Ecuadorian side dish made with a tuber known as "Melloco", a potato variety similar to our fingerling potatoes that are known to contain high levels of protein, calcium, and carotene. You can use Fingerling Potatoes instead of the original "Melloco" since I'm pretty sure it must be difficult to find in South Florida. Chose this lean potato recipe instead of the regular french fries for less fat and don't forget to put your grain of rice (or Quinoa) in the aid of the people of Ecuador. Follow this CNN link and find out how you can help the people in Ecuador now! This variation of the classic PB&J sandwich is going out for those gourmands with severe Peanut allergy and for the parents that want to pack the classic sandwich in their kids school lunch boxes but are advised against it by their Peanut Free School(we serve a couple of them.) Peanut allergy is life threatening, I know because my son was born with this allergy and had never tried PB&J for the obvious reasons. The day that I made him his first SB&J sandwich his first reaction was- "where has this Sunbutter been all my life?(LOL). Now we keep a jar in the cupboard and serves as a good replacement for Peanut butter in most of my family recipes. BTW- this is such an easy recipe that even a four years old can make it!
