This drink made out of rice and milk is traditionally made in countries from Central America. The combination of milk, rice and cinnamon makes it very fulfilling and refreshing. Make a large pitcher and keep it chill.

Horchata (Rice Drink)

A rice drink traditionally form Latin countries like, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup white rice uncooked
  • 5 cup Water
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon ground
  • pinch salt
  • 1 can condenced milk organic
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a medium size pot, combine the rice, water, condensed milk, almond milk, cinnamon sticks, cinnamon, and salt, bring to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat to a low simmer, cover, and allow to cook for 25 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
  • Remove the cinnamon sticks and add the rice mixture to a blender along with the remaining ingredients.
  • Blend on high for 1 to 3 minutes until very smooth.
  • Chill it or served over ice.
