We all know that those artificial food colors are not healthy and are suspected of having links to behavioral and health problems. At The Real Food Academy, we teach our students how to use natural food color using fruits or vegetables, not only changes the color but makes them healthier for you.
This mix of greens and superfoods can become part of a wrap a side or a meal on its own. You can top it with baked pieces of tofu, fish or chicken breast. Make it for dinner, take it to the office or a picnic and you will be replenishing your body with REAL foods that will give you nutrients and energy. Note: We like to keep the tomatoes, cucumber and feta on the side until the time of service so our greens stay crunchy.
Another recipe that was a hit on our "Breakfast at Macy's" event this past week. These quiches are filled with protein and flavor. As I was cooking the filling for them more and more people approached the kitchen trying to peek into what was cooking. You can always skip the turkey sausage and add some Shitake mushrooms for that earthy flavor. Spray some Truffle oil on top so you can take it onto the next level!
This dish will keep your child busy from beginning to end. The best part is when you are done with the preparation you will have all had fun and will have created an incredibly healthy dish. Enjoy!
